You know you're a baker/decorator when.......

- Normally you're kind of a neat freak when it comes to the kitchen floors, but the half bag of powdered sugar that just spilled is considered "hazards of the job."

- Speaking of floors, you no longer panic when you step and crunch - because you're well aware that it's non-pareils and "jimmies" and they're too small to stab you.

-You've served oatmeal cookies or Rice Krispie treats for breakfast and called it a cereal morning.

- The inside of your fridge consistently houses three different shades of frosting and 18 sticks of butter.

- The silverware drawer is often running low on clean knives and spoons because they are used for food coloring, taste-testing and frosting spreading.

-  School papers have been smeared with chocolate so many times the teacher doesn't even comment anymore.

- You never bother to paint your nails because your cuticles are constantly stained with every color in the rainbow.

- Some moms serve a cheese and cracker platter after school.  Your counter top is covered in brownie edges, a small bowl of the newest cupcake filling you thought sounded interesting, and random sawed off cake tops that occured when you "leveled your layers."

- You have to explain to your friends what "level your layers" means.

- Your husband claims first rights to any sealed tupperware that is sitting out.

- You know you shouldn't use your naughty words, but after the third time of color matching yet ANOTHER batch of frosting you're tempted.

- You feel you should explain to the cashier that even though your cart has six bags of sugar, four different brands of candy,  five dozen eggs and one of every bag of chocolate chip (milk, semi, white, bittersweet)  you really are a healthy eater for the most part and this is your baking stock-up day.

- You live in a constant state of fear that one day, when you're least expecting it, you are going to trip and drop that five layer white chocolate coconut cake that someone asked you to make for their mother-in-law.

- You feel a certain kinship with the "Time to make the Donuts" guy from those commercials years ago.

- Though you're quite certain you've perfected the chocolate chip cookie, (and have the 18 different variations in your baking binder to prove it) your children will still ask for Chips Ahoy! when at the grocery store.

- You critique every item made and schedule a date to "try it again and make it better."

And.......
After the last dish is put away and you think you won't pull out the Kitchen Aid for days -someone calls and asks you to make 5 dozen brownies for school.   And you don't turn it down because....you're the baker girl!
