The last cooler of ice and water has been packed and then melted all over the garage floor.
Yes, softball season for this family is officially over as of today.
Surely there is a special place in heaven for the parent who shoves dinner in their child's mouth while simultaneously filling water bottles, packing both sweatshirts and sunscreen, and five different varieties of snacks. Upon arrival at the field, the same parent will load themselves down like a common pack mule to haul in 4 chairs, a large cooler, and the ever present tote bag of snacks.
Once they have plopped down in exhaustion it will be brought to their attention that THEY forgot to bring sunglasses for everyone.
Farewell, softball, only 8 more months til we see you again ;)
