It's been fun to read blogs/posts about what everyone did for the holiday weekend. We made our annual visit to Iowa to visit family and stay at Embassy Suites, (BEST BREAKFAST EVER!) which has been our tradition for a few years now - it kind of kicks off the summer for our family.
We had a great time catching up with everyone, and getting to see my cousin Michelle's new house. (LOVE IT!) Sunday was really rainy, but Monday was gorgeous just as we were leaving town ;)
It was our first visit back since my Grandma passed away last fall, so it was bittersweet as well. I know she would be glad we are still keeping up the routine, but to say her presence was missed is a huge understatement.
We drove home and were back in enough time to unpack and get ready for the week ahead. Kevin was supposed to have a baseball game tonight, but RAIN! So far they have 2 games to make up, and this weather may cause more.
But....only 4 more days of school! The kids are really excited, and I am too. While I will still work part time, I am fortunate in that there are some scheduled days off through out, so that definitely helps. We still need to get our water park pass ID's, trying to find a time to fit that in somewhere. We will have a Driver's Ed student this summer (Jesus, take the wheel! Seriously, please take the wheel!) and more baseball, plus appointments, plans with friends, and vacation.
